The Service Advisor is the critical link between customers and service technicians in a dealership or repair shop. You'll act as a customer service expert, technical communicator, and advisor, ensuring a smooth and positive experience throughout the vehicle service process.
Responsibilities
Customer Service and Communication: Greet customers upon arrival, establish rapport, understand their service needs, conduct visual inspections or road tests, clearly explain service recommendations and costs, obtain authorization, provide updates, explain completed repairs, follow up to ensure satisfaction.
Service Process Management: Schedule appointments, write detailed service orders, liaise with technicians, track progress, process payments, maintain recordkeeping.
Technical Knowledge and Parts Management: Understand automotive systems, stay updated on new technologies, research parts availability and pricing.
Additional Responsibilities: Uphold safety regulations, perform basic inspections, other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
High hospitality quotient: kindness, optimism, curiosity, integrity, etc.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Valid driver’s license.
Strong understanding of automotive terminology and mechanical principles.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Customer service focus, active listening, organizational skills, ability to manage multiple tasks, proficiency with dealership management software, ability to work independently and as part of a team.
