Overview
The Field Installation Technician Level 1 is an entry level position that physically installs, removes, and modifies telecommunications equipment and infrastructure, including racking, cabling, switches, routers, and power systems, in central offices and data centers. AFL manufactures industry-leading fiber optic cable, connectivity and accessories and provides engineering and installation services for some of the largest telecom customers in the world. ITC Service Group is a wholly owned subsidiary of AFL that provides managed services and workforce solutions for the nationwide planning, design, construction, installation and maintenance of voice, data, and video networks. Responsibilities
Installation – cabling, racking, mounting and top supporting equipment racks or cabinets Fiber raceway infrastructure and central/secondary grounding Vendor equipment installation and primary/secondary power installation DSX cabling, timing cable, alarm cabling, and inside plant fiber work Customer site surveys and documentation Travel to various sites and work in environments across client locations Qualifications
Willing and able to travel 100% Hands-on experience with hand tools; knowledge of basic hand tools Ability to pass pre-employment screening Valid Driver's License (Real ID) Dexterity in fingers and hands; good hand/eye coordination Ability to work from heights with proper fall protection Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., walk, stand, bend, and drive a vehicle Read, write and understand English Must be at least 22 years old (for car rental) Experience and Training
Experience with telecommunications is desired, but not required. Training will be provided. Compensation and Benefits
Starting pay range: $24.00 - $25.00/hr Benefits include medical, dental, vision, accrued paid vacation, 401k match Travel/rentals covered; per diem covers hotel and meals Working Conditions
Ability to accept assignments that involve travel away from home market based on client needs, business needs and project scope Exposure to noisy or dusty conditions; chemicals and solvents; mechanical/electrical hazards Must be able to work in the United States Employment details
