Overall Job Summary

The Team Leader assists the Store Manager and Assistant Store Manager in executing operational, sales, and merchandising objectives while delivering a Legendary Customer Experience. The Team Leader promotes a safe and productive work environment, trains Team Members on policies and procedures, and supports a positive customer and colleague experience. Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Min 5%)

Maintain regular and predictable attendance. Work scheduled shifts and be able to work varied hours, days, nights, weekends, and overtime as business needs dictate. Uphold and promote a safe and productive work environment by following and enforcing policies and procedures. Deliver on our promise of Legendary Customer Service through GURA:

Greet the Customer. Uncover Customer’s Needs & Wants. Recommend Product Solutions. Ask to Add Value & Appreciate the Customer.

Perform a mix of duties during 95% of the day, including but not limited to:

Execute assigned basic, promotional, and seasonal merchandising activities. Perform opening/closing procedures. Transport and deposit cash to bank. Assess store conditions and assign duties. Organize and prioritize workflow using the daily planner. Recover merchandise from shelving. Participate in mandatory freight process. Perform regular and promotional price change activities. Resolve customer complaints and ensure a Legendary shopping experience. Adhere to loss prevention standards and respond to alarm calls. Communicate with Team Members on job functions, responsibilities, and financial goals. Operate cash register/computer supervising cash handling procedures. Assist Team Members with policies and procedures. Sanitize and maintain poultry holding tanks as required. Operate forklift and baler. Complete all documentation related to these duties. Obtain necessary licenses or certifications.

Required Qualifications

Retail experience and/or farming, ranching, pet/equine, or welding knowledge strongly preferred. Supervisory experience preferred. Must be at least 18 years of age and possess a valid driver’s license. High school diploma or equivalent is preferred, but not required. Preferred Knowledge, Skills Or Abilities

Basic computer skills. Ability to read, write, and count accurately. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to resolve issues ethically with minimal conflict. Ability to perform and execute core responsibilities of Team Members. Working Conditions

Indoor environment with moderate noise. Work shifts vary by store, generally 4-8+ hours. Promote a safe and productive work environment for Team Members and customers. Indoor floors and outdoor lots generally have hard surfaces; lighting and temperature are adequate. Ability to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions. Physical Requirements

Move and transfer merchandise up to 50 pounds. Push and pull merchandise up to 2,000 pounds with proper equipment. Occasionally lift or reach overhead. Frequently stand, kneel, twist, crouch, squat, bend, stoop, and climb ladders. Move throughout the store for an entire shift. Safely access all areas of the store, including selling floor, side lot, stock area, and register area. Operate equipment such as dolly, handtruck, forklift, baler, computer, cash register. Read, write, and count accurately for documentation. Use strong written and verbal communication skills with team and customers. Process information/merchandise through the point-of-sale system. Handle birds/poultry as required. Complete all required training and certifications. Travel as required in support of district needs. Drive or operate a vehicle for business needs.
