Position Summary The Production Supervisor (2nd shift) is responsible for the safe and efficient operations of production in the facility, in addition the Production Supervisor will communicate performance expectations to hourly employees, monitor production demands, supervise machine, assembly productivity and quality, and manage personnel daily. This position will predominantly oversee all production and warehousing areas operating on 2nd shift.

Essential Functions

Supervise and coordinate activities of employees within the production department

Monitor and supervise the department to ensure the established standards meet safe work and GMP practices

Responsible for ensuring daily production objectives are met efficiently and satisfactory

Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws

Oversee the day-to-day operation of the Production Departments

Manage the daily staffing of the assigned crew, accounting for time-off and administering time-card records

Provide training and demonstration for team members.

Collaborate with other Production Supervisors to have effective operations between lines and shifts

Collaborate with warehouse, engineering, quality, and maintenance staff

Strategically manage shift, with the ability to identify and implement both short- and long-term process improvements based on observations

Monitor performance through metrics and report performance through scorecards and reports

Compile required reports and documentation regarding operations, inspections, deviations, and corrective actions

Enforce safety regulations, ensuring safety standards are met and required safety training occurs

Work with Human Resources on all employee relations issues

Able to step in and operate equipment during staff shortages or call-offs

Other duties as assigned

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in a related field OR 3-5 years equivalent experience.

Minimum 1 year of leadership or supervisory experience

Food or pharmaceutical knowledge a plus

Proficient computer skills (Outlook, Word, Excel, ERP, Power BI)

Knowledge of food GMP’s a plus

Clear sense of urgency and ability to manage priorities to meet immediate needs and long-term goals

Ability to manage time and workload efficiently, and the ability to prioritize and modify priorities accordingly

Strong safety orientation

Self-motivation and ability to work independently

Demonstrated ability to work and develop others in a team environment

Sensitive to other cultures/backgrounds, able to work in a multi-cultural workplace

Demonstrated ability to function in a fast-paced environment while moving multiple simultaneous projects forward

Strong verbal and written communication skills to discuss, develop, and implement plans

High sensitivity to quality and on time delivery of commitments

Ability to mentor others

Willingness to support peer vacancies and volume demand overtime

Working Conditions

While performing the functions of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk, and hear

Often required to spend time in plant environments with operating and maintenance personnel requiring one to kneel, crouch, crawl, bend, ascend and descend stairs and/or ladders

Periodically required to lift to and above 50 pounds utilizing safe and proper lift techniques and equipment.

Vision requirements include close vision, depth perception, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus
