What You'll Do as Business Development Manager
Grow
new business in the Kutztown area by building relationships with dairy farmers and earning their trust.
Maintain & strengthen
connections with current customers through consistent, reliable follow‑up.
Develop & implement
a territory plan that aligns with sales objectives and fosters long‑term growth.
Research
area farms not yet served by IDS and identify opportunities to introduce our products and services.
Visit
farms regularly to understand their needs and recommend solutions that improve productivity and efficiency.
Collaborate
with the internal team to deliver customized dairy equipment and service solutions tailored to meet specific needs.
Track
leads, quotes, and customer activity using the company's CRM system.
Represent
IDS at trade shows, expos, and industry events while staying current on dairy technology trends.
Keep
all sales efforts aligned with IDS's mission of serving farmers with integrity, innovation, and quality.
Work
full‑time, averaging 40‑50 hours per week, with regional travel and limited overnight stays (less than 10%).
Our Ideal Business Development Manager
Experienced:
At least 3 years in sales or technical roles within the dairy or agricultural industry, with strong ties to the ag community; a solid understanding of dairy operations, equipment, and technology—preferably including automation, milking systems, or precision tools like milk meters and herd management software.
Hunter‑minded:
Comfortable initiating contact with new customers, following up on leads, and building lasting relationships in the field.
Independent & Driven:
Self‑motivated, results‑oriented, and able to manage time and territory effectively with minimal supervision.
Strategic:
Skilled at researching farms and identifying opportunities for IDS products and services to make a measurable impact.
Clear Communicator:
Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills for every customer interaction.
Tech‑savvy:
Proficient in Microsoft Office, quick to learn new systems, and able to navigate B2B and CRM platforms such as NetSuite.
Active:
Able to lift to 75 lbs. and work comfortably in on‑farm settings.

$75,000 base salary plus commission
