EXCITING DIRECT HIRE OPPORTUNITY!
Our client has an immediate need for a Quality Control Inspector who will perform in-process and final inspection of fabricated pipe spools and structural components to customer specifications and company work instructions.
Responsibilities
Performs 100% Visual Inspection of Welds in Final Structural/Piping Steel Elements
Reports Directly to Quality Control Manager about any Quality Deficiencies in Final Parts
Tracks the Quality Deficiencies per Weld
Reports Directly to QC Manager about mistakes or welding problems and Tracks the Daily Information
Ensures Supervisors and Employees understand and adhere the Quality Control Program
Receive Instructions from QC Manager about Project Specific Inspection and Test and Perform those tasks
Collaborates with departments and external suppliers regarding Quality concerns. Monitor shop Activities to ensure conformance with applicable Codes, Standards, Policies, Procedures and/or Drawings Specifications
Perform inspections on projects requiring expertise and knowledge under the direct supervision of the Quality Control Manager
Maintains Equipment operation and Calibration
Assists Quality Control Manager with Welders Qualifications
Qualifications
Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent
2-5 years of experience
Experience with Evaluation related to Quality and Codes issues.
Proficient in the use of Inspection Tools and Measuring Equipment such as Tape Measure, Square, and Micrometer.
Read and Interpret Structural Steel blueprints
Experience as a Welding Inspector
Certified as a Welding Inspector or NDE Certifications is a plus
Able to achieve a Non Destructive Testing training as a Level 1 and 2 in Ultrasonic, Magnetic Particles and Visual Inspection of Welds and Steel.
Experience in Structural Steel Inspection using AWS D1.1 Welding Code
Ability to Work well in a Team oriented environment
Bilingual (English & Spanish) is a plus.
Be able to complete all required documentation, accurate record keeping and maintain traceability.
Ability to inspect materials, parts and products at different stages of production.
Complete understanding of Quality Control Inspections for the manufacturing process.
Ability to communicate and resolve issues in a professional and tactful manner.
Must adhere to company policies and procedures.
Be familiar with Isometrics and P&ID drawings.
Must be willing to work overtime and weekends as necessary.
Must understand the stages of production with the ability to learn. Must be able to foster and maintain excellent relationships. Has some knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within the particular field. Must be able to work independently.
Requires the ability and familiarity of technical documentation preparation. Works with minimal supervision.
Ability to communicate and resolve issues in a professional and tactful manner.
