At Forvis Mazars, we view state taxes as an opportunity to save. In this position, you will look for opportunities for savings in the area of state and local taxes (SALT). Our SALT team has extensive training in tax accounting, tax law, compliance, audits, and economic development benefits, and experience with tax laws in many states. Our SALT solutions apply to sales and use taxes, income, and franchise taxes, property taxes, credits and incentives, and many more thorough understandings of multi-state sales & use taxes. What You Will Do
Identifying optimal filing options Analyzing and reviewing apportionment information Overseeing client engagements Planning and researching tax issues Preparing technical memorandums Providing audit assistance Assisting with state income tax compliance Minimum Qualifications
Bachelors Degree in accounting or a related field 4.5+ years of relevant experience Current CPA, J.D., or L.L.M designation Proficiency with OneSource income tax preparation software and OneSource tax provision software Preferred Qualifications
Understanding of multi-state income and franchise taxes Income tax compliance experience Understanding of nexus and revenue sourcing issues High-level analytical and reasoning skills Experience utilizing compliance software to complete returns Ability to meet stringent deadlines of our clients Strong verbal and written communication skills The ability to pay attention to detail without losing sight of the big picture
