Job Description: The quality inspector shall travel to various supplier facilities to perform visual and dimensional inspections on manufactured parts, assemblies, and / or sub-assemblies. Parts will be inspected to engineering drawings, customer purchase order(s), industry standards, and specifications. The inspector will be required to report inspection accept / reject information directly to the customer via web application. Responsibilities
Inspect and report results for in-process and final inspections on machined parts, assemblies, and / or sub-assemblies, per engineering requirements. Perform inspections to ANSI Y14.5 GD&T or equivalent standards and read/interpret engineering drawings and POs. Use mechanical inspection tools (e.g., micrometers, calipers) and conduct First Article Inspections (FAIs) per AS9102. Possess knowledge of applicable industry standards like IPC-A-610 or equivalent. Travel to supplier facilities and communicate inspection results to customers via a web application. Maintain proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel as part of reporting and documentation. Additional Responsibilities:
Source Inspection of parts to assure adherence to drawing requirements. Qualified inspectors for the primary discipline required shall be utilized. This may include first article, conformity validations, in-process and final acceptance inspections, and test witnessing as specified by customer. Process Audits:
Audits may be initial or periodic surveillance. Audits may also include special process capability assessments and shall be performed by technically competent personnel. Process/Product Audits:
Focus on specific customer products and the processing utilized to produce them. Checklists are derived from the associated purchase order, drawing, quality plan, and process control plan. Include calibration audits in accordance with ANSI 2540-1, ISO 17025, or any customer\'s specific calibration requirement. A background in machining and/or welding would be preferable. Qualifications
7+ years experience with hands-on inspection. 7+ years experience working in quality within the aerospace or defense industry.
