Recruitment Consultant – Supply Chain & Procurement at DSJ Global Position Overview
The Business Planner is responsible for supporting financial planning activities for retail accounts and works collaboratively with Sales, Demand Planning, Supply Chain Planning, and the Buying and Planning teams of retail partners. This role partners with the Senior Planner to report on retailer sales, margin, and inventory financial plans.
Responsibilities
Collaborate with Senior Planners and Account Executives to establish and achieve sales, margin, and inventory goals aligned with brand strategies.
Review weekly sales performance from retailer reports and monitor plans and pricing to optimize sales and protect margins.
Analyze business performance using tools such as store data, climate trends, volume groups, and overlays to identify growth opportunities.
Partner with internal teams to develop solutions that enhance sales and profitability, including strategies for inventory sell-off.
Share selling insights, category performance, SKU recommendations, and seasonal opportunities with merchandising and design teams.
Conduct regular meetings with Account Executives to address challenges and identify opportunities.
Determine style demand and inventory plans using statistical forecasting and historical data.
Prepare ad hoc analyses and support additional tasks as assigned by management.
Collaborate with Demand Planning and Sales to develop assortment recommendations.
Monitor inventory components and work with teams to maintain appropriate weeks-of-supply (WOS) relative to plan and prior year.
Participate in pre-season planning for replenishment, key items, and assortment building in partnership with Merchandising and Sales.
Qualifications
Minimum of 3 years of planning experience
Strong understanding of retail math and proficiency in Excel
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Analytical problem-solving abilities in both financial and merchandising contexts
Self-starter with the ability to work independently and in team environments
Strong prioritization and time management skills
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in financial analysis and familiarity with business information systems
Proficiency in tools such as Anaplan and Business Objects
Experience working with department store accounts
Personal Attributes

Quick learner with resourceful problem-solving skills
