Business Development Rep - Michigan

AHF . This remote position has a Michigan territory. The Business Development Representative will actively seek, engage prospects, and cultivate relationships to create and grow opportunities for Armstrong Flooring, Crossville Tile & AHF Contract business. The role involves establishing strategies to target potential clients and positioning the appropriate AHF product solutions to increase top-line revenue growth, customer acquisition, and profitability while building goodwill in the market. Create specifications within the Architect/Design community, End-users, and Flooring Contractors. The role requires in-field travel of 75–80%.
Responsibilities
Build and manage relationships with End Users, Architect/Interior Designers, Flooring Contractors, and other key buyers to establish trust and develop ongoing partnerships that convert to sales. Research purchase needs and adjust sales tactics based on insights. Present, promote, and sell the company’s products and services to new and existing buyers to influence specifications and product selection. Identify new service opportunities to grow existing accounts and strengthen relationships. Reach out to new customers through networking, social media, and cold calling. Develop and engage in networks outside of Parterre to obtain market intelligence for effective competition. Create and execute marketing campaigns, events, and sponsorships to increase brand awareness and achieve sales goals. Collaborate with customer support and management during the specification and order fulfillment process; communicate project details to the team for successful implementation. Assist clients in budgeting; prepare and submit formal pricing and bids for client approval. Prepare accurate sales projections and provide forecast information for planning. Utilize CRM to create customer profiles and maintain account updates. Assist Management in establishing Annual/Quarterly/Monthly Sales Plans and strategies. Identify product voids or improvements with management.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience. Experience in outside sales calling on a varied client base. Flooring product knowledge preferred. Proven success selling to large corporate clients. Knowledge of specifications, design, and project phases required. Strong understanding of construction, real estate, and job site conditions.
Physical and Mental Demands
Frequently stand for long periods and lift up to 20 pounds. Vision adequate to see tools and equipment; exposure to typical plant conditions with extreme weather, noise, and dust. Office environment mostly; travel required. Think analytically, make decisions, develop options and implement solutions, work with a team, maintain regular attendance, attention to detail, effective communication, multitask in a fast-paced environment, and work with a sense of urgency. Flexible entrepreneurial environment.
