The Fredericksburg Field House is currently looking for a
Sports Coordinator - Soccer . Under the supervision of the Sport Director, the Sports Coordinator is responsible for assisting in the development, organization, delivery and administration of sports leagues, recreation programs and activities targeted toward youth and adults. The incumbent assists in the recruitment, hiring, supervision and development of their team. Primary responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following: Sports Leagues, Camps, Clinics, & Tournaments
Assist in the development, organization, delivery and administration of sports leagues, tournaments, recreation programs, activities and awards. Assist in Planning, organize, schedule, and direct all games, facilities, officials, and scorekeepers for sports and activities Actively research new sports programs and activities targeted toward youth and adults Assist in the recruitment, hiring, on-boarding, training, development and supervision of sport team members Ensure a high level of customer service for all program participants Design and develop marketing material for programs Ensures that program standards are met Provides data and reports for programs as needed Assist in producing and managing the program budget to ensure revenue and program service goals are achieved. Additional Duties
Serve as a member of the management team performing specific duties which support the overall success of branch operations Perform other related duties, as assigned Any combination of education and experience providing the required skill and knowledge for successful performance would be qualifying. Typical qualifications would be equivalent to: Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Recreation Management, Physical Education, Sport Management, Sport Administration, or other related field Minimum of three (3) years of experience developing, implementing, scheduling and evaluating varied sports recreation programs Minimum of one (1) year of supervisory experience Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage sports recreation program activities at multiple sites Knowledge of rules in sports recreation program activities Strong problem-solving and analytical skills Creative thinker with a history of applying innovation in programming Excellent interpersonal communication skills and the ability to build community relationships Basic skills in Microsoft, Word and Excel and Google docs a plus Ability to manage programs to a diverse population Equipment
Uses standard office equipment such as personal computer, scanner, copy machine, fax machine, binder, laminator, telephone. Work Schedules
Twelve months per year, work schedule as needed to successfully meet individual and department goals and objectives. This will include primarily evening and/or weekend hours. Physical and Mental Demands, Work Hazards
Perform all physical aspects of the position, including being mobile, bending, reaching, and lifting up to 50 pounds at a time Work environments range from quiet work areas to busy, noisy indoor and outdoor spaces with several groups talking amongst themselves concurrently Must be able to actively participate in youth games/activities
