Base pay range
$80,000.00/yr - $105,000.00/yr Primary Responsibilities
The primary responsibility of this position is to assist in the development and implementation of policies that govern the control of infections and communicable diseases. The role involves developing systems for identification, reporting, investigating, and controlling infections among patients and personnel. Key Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in applied clinical science (Nursing, Medical Technology, Microbiology, Public Health). Infection Control/Prevention specialist with 2+ years' experience. CDC certification in CIC is preferred but not mandatory. Hospital experience is highly advantageous. Job Responsibilities
Interpret scientific data, formulas, and graphs. Manage information systems for data entry, retrieval, analysis, and reporting. Ensure compliance with Wyoming Department of Health standards, CMS Conditions of Participation (COP), HIPAA, CDC guidelines, and legal considerations regarding healthcare data. Complete timely data entry into the National Health Safety Network (NHSN). Apply quality improvement tools and statistical process control techniques. Establish, implement, and oversee infection prevention program goals, policies, and procedures. Review and update hospital policies to address infection prevention discrepancies. Align infection prevention initiatives with the facility's mission and strategic plans. Collaborate with medical staff, nursing, and other departments to improve infection control practices. Generate reports and statistical data for various hospital committees and leadership. Conduct annual risk assessments and develop action plans, including dashboard creation for data monitoring. Participate in construction, renovation, and environmental safety assessments, ensuring compliance with standards. Develop and update Blood-Borne Pathogens Exposure Control Plan. Investigate outbreaks and understand outbreak criteria. Ensure compliance with reportable disease requirements and review laboratory results for MDROs. Maintain NHSN reporting and review data to set goals for reducing healthcare-associated infections (HAIs). Perform additional duties as assigned. Additional Details
