The duties that the incumbent of the vacancy will be expected to perform. Duties Description Reporting to the Stores and Mail Operations Supervisor, the Office Assistant 2 Stores/Mail will be responsible for: Processing high-volume print requests on various printing machines. Overseeing mail operations including sorting, distribution, meter readings, and monitoring postage balances with other team members in the mailroom. Assist in maintaining a clean and safe environment including but not limited to ensuring maintenance on printers and other equipment, wiping down equipment when necessary, and ordering appropriate print supplies. Maintaining various tracking logs for print requests and package tracking. Ensuring coverage for courier routes and transporting staff to/from off-site meetings; serve as backup as necessary. Overseeing the supply room inventory including purchase requisitions, receipt of goods, distribution, and tracking. Interacting with colleagues, customers, and vendors in a professional manner. Supervising a team of up to 3 people in performance of the above listed activities. Additional comments regarding the vacancy. This title is part of the New York Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement Statewide Program (NY HELPS). HELPS Program titles may be filled via a non-competitive appointment. At a future date (within one year of permanent appointment), employees hired under NY HELPS are expected to have their permanent non-competitive employment status converted to permanent competitive status. You will not have to take an exam to gain permanent competitive status.
