Social Worker I - Social Work Services
Saint Joseph Medical Center - Joliet, IL 60435 is seeking a qualified Social Worker I to join our dedicated Social Work Services department. This is a per diem, as needed schedule with a minimum of four shifts per month, two of which are weekend shifts. The role requires a Master’s in Social Work (MSW) and LSW registration with acute care hospital experience.
Responsibilities Provide emotional support, crisis intervention, and counseling; facilitate information and referral services; coordinate financial assistance and supportive services for patients and families facing hospitalization, illness, disability, or trauma. Conduct case management and milieu management, complete psychosocial assessments, develop and re‑evaluate treatment plans, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team. Coordinate discharge planning and maintain comprehensive clinical documentation for each client during their length of stay.
Qualifications
Required:
Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, or a related field; current registration as an intern with the appropriate Board; minimum one year inpatient or outpatient behavioral health experience preferred.
Preferred:
Current BCLS certification; Master’s in Psychology, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor; social work hospital experience.
Pay Transparency Saint Joseph Medical Center - Joliet offers competitive compensation. The estimated starting salary for this role is $31.83, with final compensation determined at the time of hire based on skillset, experience, education, credentials, and licensure.
