Telecommunications Foreman - Ft. Liberty, NC with Security Clearance
Overview: The Telecommunications Foreman is responsible for planning, organizing and scheduling crews to complete assigned work orders, including assigning tasks, assuring the work is being installed in a high-quality manner and performing quality inspections. This individual will monitor task completion, compliance and prevent safety issues. The Telecommunications Foreman will have technical knowledge & working experience in the installation of Telecommunication Systems including Fiber Optic & Structured Cabling, CCTV, OSP & ISP Copper, along with DAS.
Responsibilities:
Safe use of hand tools and various power tools.
Wearing required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and following safety policies and procedures.
Actively participating in daily safety and work briefings.
Installing various types of low voltage cable, including fiber optics, Cat 5, Cat 6.
Managing small to large sized projects of 5+ persons.
Co‑ordinating with senior management and supervisory personnel to resolve matters such as work procedures, complaints, and construction problems.
Scheduling projects in logical steps to budget enough time required to meet deadlines.
Interpreting and explaining plans to field workers.
Terminating, testing, troubleshooting low voltage cabling.
Installing pathways, cable tray, telecommunications devices, prefabricated components and assemblies.
Installing grounding systems.
Training and supervising technicians/apprentices to install cable from Telecommunication Rooms (TR) to work area outlets (WAO) while following drawings and run lists.
Performing quality assurance checks of the team's work to ensure compliance with requirements.
Maintaining a clean work area and participating in job site cleanup.
Securing company tools and materials daily.
Travel up to 25% (domestic and/or international).
Qualifications / Skills:
Current BICSI Technician certification.
5+ years prior experience in the commercial communications industry.
High School diploma or GED required.
Ability to obtain a TS/SCI clearance as required for the project.
Valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record.
Background check and drug test clearance.
Reliable transportation to and from the jobsite.
Basic telecommunication knowledge test pass.
Consistent punctuality and teamwork.
Wear appropriate clothing (long pants and a shirt covering shoulders by six inches).
Provide basic tools from provided tool list prior to first day of employment.
Experience with Microsoft Office applications (desired).
Physical Abilities:
Lifts at least 100 pounds at one time and 60 pounds for an extended period.
Relocates a 12‑foot stepladder without assistance.
Works at heights up to 60 feet using scaffolds, aerial lifts, catwalks, and ladders.
Walks, climbs, lifts, squats, crawls, kneels, pushes, pulls, and reaches overhead on a routine basis.
Possess good vision, ability to see color, and ability to hear and communicate in English.
May use a standard ladder without exceeding weight limit while carrying tools.
Recognizes potential problems before they occur.
Applies general rules to produce sound judgments.
Combines information to form general conclusions.
Has close-range detail vision.
Listens to and understands spoken information and ideas.
