Foley & Lardner LLP is seeking a detail oriented and client focused Paralegal to join our Business Law team and Estate Planning practice group. This is an excellent opportunity to work alongside experienced attorneys and contribute meaningfully to estate planning, administration, and trust matters. The ideal candidate is someone who works well both independently and as part of a team, who can proactively manage multiple timelines with minimum supervision, and who brings strong communication and organizational skills to the table.
Responsibilities
Draft estate planning and probate documents
Support and assist with estate and trust administration processes
Attend client meetings and maintain frequent client contact for administration matters
Prepare financial statements, accountings, schedules, and Excel model analyses
Prepare various tax returns, including:
Fiduciary (Form 1041)
Estate (Form 706)
Gift (Form 709)
Individual ( Form 1040)
Non-profit (Forms 90 & 990PF)
Partnership (Form 1065)
Consistently achieve 1650 billable hour requirement (including approved non-billable time)
Qualifications
High School Diploma/GED required; Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration or paralegal certificate from an ABA approved paralegal program preferred
Minimum of one (1) year of relevant experience in estate planning, trust administration, and/or tax preparation required
Experience preparing forms 1041, 1040, 706, 709, 990, 990PF, and/or 1065 for tax returns strongly desired
Proficient in Microsoft Excel
Familiarity with tax preparation software (e.g., CCH, OneSource, UltraTax CS, GoSystem Tax RS) is a plus
Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
Flexibility to work extended hours as needed to meet deadlines#LI-Hybrid
In support of transparency and equity in the workplace, Foley provides salary ranges for all positions. The figures below represent the full compensation range of this position. The actual offered amount will be between the range minimum and midpoint based on the following factors: education, experience, geographic market, and internal pay equity at Foley.
