Advanced Human Resources Technician

Join to apply for this position. This role will report to the Director of Personnel/Human Resources or assigned staff and serve internal and external customers with quality service.
Responsibilities
Inputs data for monthly, weekly and semi‑monthly Personnel Action Form(s).
Files, maintains, and creates all City employee records.
Generates various monthly reports in EXCEL and Lotus 123.
Runs monthly reports from the human resources information system.
Maintains office supplies and storage area.
Records board meetings and serves as a support office staff member.
Tracks and collects roster revisions.
Assists with updating weekly job listings.
Serves as reception for the department.
Assists customers with employee applicant tracking system.
Maintains office staff’s leave reports and files.
Coordinated employee elections and assisted with updating election records.
Coordinated with city departments to ascertain position availability and verified employment as requested.
Reviews documents to determine budgeted positions.
Performs research as needed.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Associate’s degree in Human Resources, Business Management, or related field from an accredited college or university, or equivalent years of experience.
Two (2) or more years of experience in Human Resources Administration.
Considerable knowledge and experience with creating Microsoft Word documents and spreadsheets.
Ability to review and interpret data.
Physical Requirements
Tasks are performed in a sedentary position at a workstation with occasional walking required.
Requires extensive use of computer, printer, and other office and telecommunications equipment.
Employee must exert light physical effort, occasionally involving lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling objects and materials (mostly file boxes) of up to thirty‑five pounds.
Requires visual perception and ability to communicate orally.
Job must be performed with or without accommodations.
Work Environment
Tasks are regularly performed in an office environment where the noise level is moderately quiet.
Limited exposure to extreme weather conditions and limited risk of injury.
May have normal exposure to dirt, dust, pollen, odors, wetness, humidity, rain, fumes, temperature and noise.
