$140,000.00/yr - $200,000.00/yr Gibson Dunn is a leading global law firm, advising clients on significant transactions and disputes. The firm’s work is distinguished by a unique combination of precision and vision. Based in our Los Angeles, Century City, or Orange County office, the Senior Real Estate Paralegal will be responsible for supporting attorneys in all phases of real estate transactions, including all aspects of due diligence review and document preparation and management. This paralegal will be a key member of a real estate team that is dedicated to the Firm’s top clients. This role reports to the U.S. Paralegal Manager and Real Estate Paralegal Coordinator. Responsibilities include: Reviewing and analyzing title documentation, surveys and zoning reports. Preparing title objection letters, seller response letters and diligence review summaries related to the review of title, survey, zoning and litigation and lien searches. Working directly with title companies, to negotiate title policy coverage and clearance of title matters. Working directly with title companies on the issuance of UCC policies and mezzanine endorsements to owner’s title policies for mezzanine loan transactions. Reviewing and commenting on surveys and zoning reports and working directly with surveyors and zoning companies to resolve issues. Preparing mortgage assignment/termination documents with respect to pay-off of loans. Preparing escrow instruction letters and working with title company with respect to closing logistics. Reviewing lease documentation and preparing lease abstracts with respect to same. Ordering and reviewing of UCC, bankruptcy and litigation searches and preparing summary with respect to same. Preparation of ancillary loan documents and conveyance documents. Performing residential real property, condominium and cooperative closings from contract preparation to closing on behalf of sellers, purchasers, transfer agents and lenders. Qualifications: Excellent organizational skills and a strong attention to detail. Flexible and able to multi-task, balancing priorities and tight deadlines. Proactive and able to handle efficiently multiple projects and client matters simultaneously. Must possess strong written and verbal communication skills. Superior analytical and reasoning abilities. Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with members across multiple offices. Ability to work overtime as necessary. Experience: Bachelor’s Degree required. Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in AmLaw 100 law firm. Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Adobe. Gibson Dunn will consider for employment qualified Applicants with Criminal Histories in a manner consistent with the requirements of local law. The annual compensation range for this position is $140-200k. The salary offered within this range will depend upon qualifications and other operational considerations.
