Job Description Located within Facilities Management, Custodial Services is hiring a Student Day Porter! The Student Day Porter plays a key role in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors on campus. Ideal candidates are dependable, detail-oriented, and able to work independently and with a team. This position offers flexible scheduling and an opportunity to contribute to the overall campus experience.

Duties:

Mops, sweeps

Cleans and dusts furniture, equipment, etc.

Collects and disposes of wastepaper and refuse

Vacuums carpeted areas where applicable

Maintains lavatories and rest rooms in a sanitary condition

Performs related duties as assigned

Job Requirements Required Education:

Must be currently enrolled in the

2025 Fall Term

as a student at the University of Oklahoma. Hiring contingent upon verification of current student status.

Must attach Fall 2025 class schedule

Skills:

Ability to perform basic math functions

Ability to accurately read and understand written materials and instructions

Customer service

Working Environment:

Mopping, sweeping, waxing, and polishing floors

Cleaning and dusting of furniture and any woodwork

Collection and disposing of wastepaper and refuse

Vacuuming carpeted areas

Maintenance of lavatories and rest rooms

Shoveling of snow from doorways and sidewalks

Lifting and carrying loads up to 100 pounds

Prolonged standing and walking

Excessive use of arms in a back-and-forth motion

Excessive stooping and bending

Exposure to odors

Exposure to disagreeable tasks or conditions

Exposure to hazardous chemicals

Climbing stairs
