Overview
The IT Procurement Specialist plays a critical role in managing the end-to-end lifecycle of SaaS and digital infrastructure contracts. This role ensures cost-effective, secure, and strategically aligned technology sourcing. The Specialist partners with IT, Legal, and Security teams to manage software acquisitions, optimize vendor contracts, mitigate risk, and ensure compliance with regulatory and internal standards. By focusing on IT procurement, this role enables tighter cost control, stronger vendor management, and greater alignment with the organization’s digital strategy. Responsibilities
SaaS Lifecycle Management: manage software acquisition, renewals, and rationalization; monitor usage, optimize license tiers, and identify opportunities to eliminate redundant tools. Contract Strategy and Negotiation: lead RFPs and negotiations for IT and SaaS vendors; collaborate with Legal to evaluate contract terms focusing on data privacy, intellectual property, and risk-related clauses (e.g., termination, liability). Vendor Risk and Compliance: partner with IT Security and Legal to assess and manage third-party risk; ensure compliance with GDPR, SOC 2, and other regulatory or internal requirements. Cost Optimization and Benchmarking: benchmark SaaS and IT procurement pricing against industry standards; identify and execute cost-saving opportunities through tool consolidation, multi-year agreements, and strategic sourcing. Strategic Alignment: align IT procurement initiatives with the organization’s technology roadmap; partner with IT leadership to support long-term digital capabilities and enterprise priorities. Minimum Requirements
Educational Background: A bachelor's degree in business, IT, or a related field. Experience: At least 5 years of experience in IT procurement, strategic sourcing, or vendor management. Skills: Strong negotiation skills, familiarity with SaaS and cloud services, and knowledge of IT contract terms and compliance requirements. Preferred Qualifications
Certifications: Professional certifications such as Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) or Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) are advantageous. Working Conditions
