Water/Wastewater Operations Specialist – East Region
Black & Veatch is seeking a Water/Wastewater Operations Specialist to support startup, commissioning and operational excellence for wastewater treatment facilities across the East Region. This full‑time, staff position requires travel up to 75% and a strong background in wastewater plant operations or commissioning. Key Responsibilities
Provide startup, commissioning and troubleshooting services for conventional and advanced wastewater treatment, biosolids, groundwater and surface water systems. Prepare standard operating procedures, energy control procedures, job safety analysis and operation and maintenance manuals. Perform onsite training of operations staff and evaluate staffing, operating costs and system redundancy for reliable operations. Preferred Qualifications
At least 10 years of experience in wastewater operations or commissioning of wastewater plants. Plant startup and commissioning experience is a must. Technical writing skills and basic computer skills (Word, Excel, PDF, Visio) are a must. Water/Wastewater Operator License is preferred. Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in engineering technology or sciences preferred, or equivalent experience that makes the individual uniquely qualified. Minimum 5 years of related work experience. Valid driver’s license required. Work Environment / Physical Demands
Potential travel up to 75%. Hybrid work model offering three days in the office and two days remote for professionals within commuting distance of a Black & Veatch office. Compensation & Benefits
