Water/Wastewater Operations Specialist - East Region
Black & Veatch Corporation is seeking an experienced Water/Wastewater Operations Specialist to support design, procurement, and construction solutions for wastewater treatment facilities worldwide. The role focuses on startup, commissioning, troubleshooting, and training operations staff to reliably operate new and upgraded facilities.
Key Responsibilities
Provide startup, commissioning, and troubleshooting services for conventional wastewater treatment, advanced wastewater treatment, biosolids, groundwater systems with chlorination/chloramination and hydrogen sulfide removal/softening, and conventional surface water treatment and advanced disinfection/filtration.
Prepare standard operating procedures, energy control procedures, job safety analysis, and operation and maintenance manuals for new and existing facilities.
Perform onsite training of operations staff.
Evaluate staffing, operating costs, and system redundancy to ensure reliable operations.
Travel up to 75%.
Preferred Qualifications
At least 10 years of experience in wastewater operations or commissioning of wastewater plants and water treatment operations or commissioning of water treatment plants.
Plant startup and commissioning experience a must.
Technical writing skills and basic computer skills (Word, Excel, PDF, Microsoft Visio) are a must.
Water/Wastewater Operator License is preferred.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in engineering technology, sciences, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of related work experience.
Valid driver’s license is required.
