remotely . This position is contingent upon contract award. Overview: ECS is seeking a lead to provide leadership and oversight for the Core Technology Services task area, ensuring the efficient and effective delivery of OEB Infrastructure services. The Core Technology Services Delivery Lead will manage NIAID’s day-to-day core IT infrastructure activities, including foundational services such as networking and storage, as well as operation of NIAID’s computing facilities and other services that support NIAID’s technology requirements. Key Responsibilities

Core Technology Leadership: Assist with providing oversight and leadership to the Core Technology Services task area; report on task area status to OEB leadership; serve as a point of contact for OEB leadership for task area responsibilities. Reporting: Report on technical outages occurring over the past 24 hours. Report is due Monday through Friday by 8AM (excluding federal holidays and other government closure days). Enterprise Data Hosting

Operate NIAID’s data storage and hosting systems, including storage appliances, data transfer systems, and data backup and protections systems. Provide data management services, including data access management, data lifecycle management, and long-term data archiving and retention. Ensure NIAID enterprise data is protected in accordance with NIAID’s data lifecycle and backup policies, through short-term retention and off-site backups. Implement new enterprise data storage systems that align with NIAID’s requirements, including data availability, storage performance, and cost effectiveness. Report on technical outages occurring over the past 24 hours. Report is due Monday through Friday by 8AM (excluding federal holidays and other government closure days). Hosting Facility Support

Operate and maintain NIAID’s hosting facilities located in Rockville, MD; Bethesda, MD; Ashburn, VA; and Hamilton, MT. Document, install, and maintain equipment to NIAID hosting standards; perform physical installation of IT equipment and cabling. Coordinate IT operations with facility maintenance staff during incidents and maintenance; report on outages as described above. Enterprise Network Engineering

Architect NIAID’s enterprise Ethernet network to support business and scientific networking needs, including routing, switching, and inter-site connectivity. Operate the NIAID enterprise network, including incident troubleshooting, configuration changes, deployment/decommissioning, performance optimization, and security patching. Monitor network performance and collaborate with OEB teams, OCICB branches, and NIH groups to meet organizational needs. Explore modern networking technologies to maintain a scalable, reliable network that supports the institute’s mission; report outages as above. Cybersecurity Engineering

Develop, implement, and operate technology solutions to improve NIAID’s cybersecurity stance. Maintain cybersecurity portfolio (firewalls, endpoint protection, IDS/IPS, SIEM, SOAR, packet capture, and monitoring). Collaborate with incident response teams to support investigation and remediation of suspected incidents. Support security documentation development (e.g., system security plans) for OEB systems; report outages as above. Project Management

Assist with project management to ensure efficient delivery of OEB Infrastructure services; collaborate with stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution. Reporting And Communication

Ensure timely and accurate reporting of Core Technology Services status and other relevant information; coordinate with stakeholders to resolve issues. Collaboration And Coordination

Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure smooth execution of Core Technology Services task area responsibilities; coordinate with team members for effective delivery. Requirements

Experience with commercial data backup solutions (e.g., Commvault Simpana, Rubrik, LTO, AWS Glacier). Excellent communication and reporting skills; ability to deliver timely and accurate reports. Strong collaboration and coordination skills with stakeholders and team members. Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Security, or related field. Active Public Trust or higher security clearance. Minimum 10 years of documented experience with storage technologies (NetApp, DDN, Infinidat, Brocade, cloud storage) and storage protocols (SMB, NFS, Fibre Channel, S3). Certifications such as PMP, ITIL v4 Foundation, SAFe, COMP, Security+, CompTIA, etc. Reside in the Washington DC Metro area; travel within DC Metro Area and CONUS as needed. Salary Range:

$160,000 - $185,000 Benefits:
