Position Summary The Quality Control Inspector II is responsible for performing dimensional, visual, and functional inspections on machined/mechanical components, electronic printed circuit board assemblies (PCBAs), and other manufactured parts to ensure compliance with customer, engineering, and industry standards. This role will also manage the organization and electronic storage of inspection reports, ensuring accurate documentation and traceability. The ideal candidate will have experience with ASME standards, inspection tools, and quality documentation systems.

Key Responsibilities

Perform incoming, in-process, and final inspections of machined/mechanical components and electronic PCBAs.

Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and ASME standards to verify product compliance.

Use precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, height gauges, CMM, etc.) to perform dimensional inspections.

Conduct visual inspections for workmanship, defects, and compliance with IPC/ASME standards.

Document inspection results, nonconformances, and corrective actions in accordance with company procedures.

Organize, maintain, and electronically store inspection reports and quality records to ensure easy retrieval and compliance with audit requirements.

Support calibration and maintenance of inspection tools and gauges.

Collaborate with production, engineering, and quality teams to resolve inspection-related issues.

Provide feedback and recommendations for continuous improvement in quality processes.

Qualifications

3+ years of quality inspection experience in a manufacturing environment (machined parts and/or electronic assemblies preferred).

Strong knowledge of ASME standards; familiarity with IPC-A-610 and IPC-A-620 is a plus.

Proficient in reading and interpreting mechanical drawings, GD&T, and technical specifications.

Skilled in the use of precision measurement tools and inspection equipment.

Experience with electronic recordkeeping systems and Microsoft Office Suite.

High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and ability to manage inspection documentation.

Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred

Certification in ASQ (CQI, CQT) or equivalent.

Experience with ERP/MES systems for inspection recordkeeping.

Knowledge of ISO 9001 and/or AS9100 quality management systems.
