Job Description
We are seeking an experienced
Heavy-Duty Diesel Technician
to join our team. The technician will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining heavy-duty trucks, trailers, and diesel engines. The ideal candidate has strong mechanical knowledge, diagnostic skills, and a commitment to safety and quality workmanship.
Key Responsibilities
Perform diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, aftertreatment systems (DEF, DPF), and other drivetrain components.
Repair and service brake systems, suspensions, steering, lighting, and electrical systems on Class 8 trucks and trailers.
Conduct preventive maintenance inspections (PMI) and DOT inspections as needed.
Operate diagnostic tools and OEM software (e.g., Cummins Insite, Detroit Diagnostic Link, etc.).
Repair and replace hydraulic systems, AC systems, and auxiliary equipment.
Perform engine overhauls, clutch replacements, cooling system repairs, and emissions system services.
Maintain accurate records of work performed and complete job tickets using repair orders or software.
Communicate repair status and findings with service managers and customers as needed.
Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work area.
Required Qualifications
3+ years of diesel mechanic experience (Class 7 and 8 vehicles).
Proficient in diagnostic software and fault code troubleshooting.
Strong knowledge of air brakes, electrical, and mechanical systems.
Ability to lift up to 75 lbs, work in various weather conditions, and perform physical tasks.
Valid driver’s license (CDL or willingness to obtain).
ASE or OEM certifications are a plus (Cummins, CAT, Detroit, etc.).
