QA Laboratory Quality Specialist

located in Vicksburg, MS. This is a staff position in the ERI laboratory. The objective of the position is to monitor all quality aspects of Laboratory operation that impact product quality. This position is responsible for the Statistics Quality Control (SQC) program, Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS), and staff training. Responsibilities
Practice good laboratory safety habits and participate in all safety training as required Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laboratory environment at all times Perform the implementation, maintenance, and improvement of the Laboratory\'s Quality Management System and SQC Program Serve as MOSC (Management of Specification Change) coordinator and update the Specification Compilation documentation as needed Assist with internal and external audits for the laboratory Initiate, perform and document corrective action, including follow-up monitoring to gauge the effectiveness of the corrective action Ensure proper training and adherence to defined testing procedures by Lab Analysts Document Lab Analysts\' training and submit records to the Compliance Department Perform testing audits to ensure adherence to test procedures using Job Qualifications protocol or ASTM proficiency samples Schedule and submit results for proficiency testing Act as the LIMS administrator Review customer Certificate of Analysis (COAs) daily for accuracy and initiate corrective/preventive actions when necessary Perform statistical review on product batch certifications for abnormal trends Maintain and follow ISO 17025, ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 related standard practices and procedures Identify and report deviations from the laboratory\'s quality management system, SQC program or from procedures for performing lab activities and initiate any required actions to prevent or minimize such deviations Report to laboratory management on the performance of the laboratory\'s quality management system and any need for improvement Qualifications
Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry or equivalent training approved by laboratory management In-depth knowledge of ERI\'s product lines Knowledge of ASTM, API, ERTM and other industry-associated analytical procedures relevant to petroleum and process monitoring Proficient in LIMS Aptitude for math and statistical analysis Strong attention to detail and technical writing ability Working knowledge of ISO 17025, ISO 9001, and ISO 14001 Ability to work independently Good verbal and written communication skills Strong initiative and willingness to accept additional responsibilities as needed Ergon Refining, Inc. is an EEO/AAP employer.
