Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced
Data Center Commissioning Manager
to lead the commissioning, startup, and handover of mission‑critical facilities. The ideal candidate will ensure that data center systems are designed, installed, and tested according to operational requirements, industry standards, and client expectations. This role requires a deep understanding of mechanical, electrical, and IT infrastructure, as well as proven project management skills.
Key Responsibilities
Lead commissioning activities for new and retrofitted data centers, including planning, execution, and reporting.
Develop and implement commissioning plans, procedures, and protocols for all critical systems (power, cooling, security, and IT infrastructure).
Coordinate with engineering, construction, and operations teams to ensure successful project delivery.
Oversee functional and performance testing of electrical, mechanical, and IT systems.
Identify and resolve system deficiencies and recommend corrective actions.
Maintain compliance with industry standards (TIA-942, Uptime Institute, ANSI/BICSI, ISO, etc.).
Manage commissioning documentation, including test reports, procedures, and as‑built drawings.
Mentor and guide junior commissioning engineers and technicians.
Interface with clients, vendors, and contractors to ensure expectations are met.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil Engineering, or a related technical field.
Minimum 7–10 years of experience in commissioning or facilities management, preferably in mission‑critical or data center environments.
Strong knowledge of data center systems: UPS, generators, switchgear, cooling systems, fire suppression, and BMS.
Proven project management experience with multiple concurrent projects.
Familiarity with commissioning standards and certifications (CxA, PE, BICSI, Uptime Institute, LEED).
Excellent problem‑solving, organizational, and communication skills.
Ability to travel to project sites as required.
Preferred Skills
Experience with Tier III / IV data centers.
Hands‑on knowledge of testing and measurement equipment.
Familiarity with sustainability and energy efficiency practices in data centers.
