Manager of Materials - Rail Proposed Business

Key Accountabilities: • Thorough knowledge of procurement and materials regulations specific to the railroad industry. • Proven ability to assess situations, resolve problems in real time, and effectively manage unexpected or extraordinary conditions. • Develops and maintains clear, effective maintenance procedures to ensure operational consistency and compliance. • Trains employees in proper work methods and best practices to support safety, efficiency, and performance. • Responsible for monitoring, evaluating, and continuously improving the effectiveness and efficiency of transit service operations. • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as part of a high-performing team. • Capable of interacting with the public in a courteous, respectful, and professional manner. • Able to perform effectively under pressure in fast-paced or high-stakes situations. • Must comply with the company's uniform and grooming standards at all times. Skills, Knowledge, & Experience: • A minimum of 6 years of experience in material management and inventory control. • At least 7 years of experience managing maintenance-of-way crews. • In-depth knowledge of FRA procurement regulations and associated reporting requirements. • Experience in railroad or rail transit operations, specifically utilizing electronic asset management systems. • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated ability to foster and promote a safety-conscious culture. • Exceptional oral and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey information across all levels of the organization.
