Industrial Maintenance Mechanic

Installation, troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, cleaning, and repair of containerboard plant machinery and equipment.

Observe mechanical devices in operation and listen to their sounds to locate causes of trouble.

Dismantle devices to gain access to and remove defective parts.

Examine form and texture of parts to detect imperfections.

Repair or replace defective parts.

Install special functional and structural parts in devices.

Set up and operate lathe, drill press, grinder, band saw, milling machine, welder, and other metalworking tools to make and repair parts.

Movement/positioning/replacement of heavy weight equipment with the aid of mechanical means such as forklifts, pry bars, and chain falls.

Install power supply, wiring, and conduit for newly installed machines and equipment such as conveyors and programmable controllers.

Diagnose and repair or replace faulty electronic components, such as printed circuit boards.

Diagnose and replace faulty mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components of machines and equipment.

Pay Rate:

$27.78 - $32.54 per hour

Category/Shift:

Hourly Full‑Time: 2‑2‑3 schedule; Nights: 7 p‑7 a

Physical Location:

Charlotte Box Plant, 5419 Hovis Road, Charlotte, NC 28208

Ensuring Quality and Safety.

Knowledge in Mechanical, Hydraulic, and Pneumatic Machinery.
