Position Overview: We are looking for an
HVACProject Manager
to join our growing service team. The
HVACProject Manager
is responsible for overseeing the day‑to‑day operations of the mechanical installation team and the execution for mechanical construction projects. This includes planning, documentation, execution, and overall project supervision — encompassing equipment procurement, submittals, change orders, communication, and coordination across all project phases.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide hands‑on and oversight of the assembly of boilers, heating, ventilating, air conditioning (HVAC) units, refrigeration systems and equipment operating with energy management control systems ensuring accuracy.
Ensure that HVAC systems are installed efficiently, accurately, and in compliance with relevant regulations and safety standards.
Ability to solve problems with chillers, boilers, heating, air conditioning and ventilation equipment
Provide guidance and training to installation teams on best practices and technical aspects of HVAC installation
Determine needed resources (manpower, equipment, and materials) from start to finish with attention to budgetary limitations
Create professional HVAC retrofit estimates and proposals capable of value selling by providing financial analysis, showing increased building reliability, efficiency and improved tenant comfort
Monitor projects on an ongoing basis, evaluating progress and quality, as well as managing issue and risk resolution and taking corrective action as necessary
Provide accurate submittals to the Mechanical team prior to each job
Identify and secure additional chargeable opportunities including time & material work, system upgrades and service contact expansion.
Ensure customer requirements are adequately defined, uniformly understood and appropriately planned
Coordinate project scheduling activities, including identifying project task dependencies and resource requirements, and assessing project risks/mitigation strategy
Build partnering relationships with customers responsible for the decision making process to drive Chesapeake Controls service offerings.
Lead and motivate cross‑functional teams and interact with all levels
Analyze and track project expenditures to budget
Promote and provide safety leadership and awareness while working on site with subcontractors, customers, end users, and on‑site stakeholder
Obtain permits and licenses from appropriate authorities
Qualifications:
Minimum
5+ years
of experience in commercial HVAC or mechanical service.
Prior experience in a
supervisory or lead technician role
Strong understanding of HVAC systems, controls, and mechanical equipment.
Excellent leadership, communication, and customer service skills.
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple service calls in a fast‑paced environment.
Proficient in service management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
EPA certification
Bend, lift, carry over up to 75lbs, climb ladder and drive to job sites
Preferred:
Construction‑related certifications and/or PMP preferred
Journeyman or Master’s license preferred
Bachelor’s Degree in related field
