The successful BIM/CAD Designer will review engineering drawings, attend coordination meetings, and manage our software products by incorporating new versions and releases of BIM products. This individual will act as a liaison between corporate technology staff, software developers, general contractors, and BIM staff; provide technical orientation for new hires regarding BIM tools, tasks, and skills; market our BIM services; and manage and distribute coordination digital documents. Responsibilities
Manage software product including but not limited to incorporating new versions and releases of BIM products. Review engineering drawings including architectural plans, mechanical plans, structural drawings, single line diagrams, riser diagrams, power and lighting plans, floor plans and construction documents submitted by our internal engineers and at times external engineering firms. Review (and may work from) physical sites, and coordinated drawings. Attend Coordination meetings from General Contractors and from the various trades. Conduct site evaluations and audits, review plan inputs, perform checks for accuracy and completeness, and develop optimized construction plans for the physical installation of power distribution conduit systems (raceway, cable tray, bus duct and duct bank). Solve, execute and plan, install the software, create templates, obtain training, develop pilot projects, etc. Demonstrate BIM success in presentations. Provide hardware and network support as it relates to BIM and other IT needs. Act as liaison with corporate technology staff, software developers, General Contractors BIM Staff, etc. Continuing education in Revit training sessions. Provide technical orientation for new hires regarding BIM tools, tasks and skills. Attend conferences, seminars and workshops for BIM. Provide project coordination with customers. Provide modeling and detailing. Coordinate and distribute coordination digital documents. Coordinate needed hardware upgrades with IT department. Market our BIM services. Explain how BIM helps construction visualize, simulate, and analyze a project before construction begins, including quantity takeoffs, 4D simulation, clash detection, and improved collaboration. Be well versed in providing illustrations and documentation using three-dimensional BIM techniques. CAD capabilities should provide comprehensive coordination drawings to facilitate field installations and coordination with other trades. Utilize Autodesk AutoCAD 3D; experience with Autodesk Revit and Navisworks for collision avoidance; manage the Project Browser UI. Understand REVIT workflows with the ability to draw and modify REVIT families and manipulate MEP settings. Create and manage Construction Documents, sheets for exporting to PDF and CAD; export REVIT models to NavisWorks for clash studies between trades. Automate BIM routines to support standards and productivity. Provide quality control for completeness and adherence to company standards of all shop drawings produced. Provide linking BIM to projects for submittals, construction models, shop drawings and schedules. Provide 3D renderings. Requirements
5+ years production experience in Building Information Modeling or Engineering In-depth working knowledge of current BIM versions Ability to use time productively and meet challenging work goals Ability to take on additional responsibilities as needed and manage priorities with minimal guidance Exceptional work ethic PC experience in Windows environments; working knowledge of Word, Excel, spreadsheets, e-mail, web-enabled applications and database software Self-starter with drive to pursue continued education on BIM Ability to work well as part of a team and independently Strong interpersonal organization and communication skills Energetic, efficient and results-oriented Prism\'s BIM/CAD department is one of the strongest in Texas and aims to continue this excellence in our Oklahoma offices as well.
