A VDC (Virtual Design and Construction) Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and overseeing the implementation of BIM (Building Information Modeling) and VDC processes and technologies on construction projects. This role requires strong coordination skills, proficiency in CAD software, and a deep understanding of construction processes and mechanical design.
Key Responsibilities
Collaborate with project teams to define and implement BIM and VDC processes and strategies
Coordinate and oversee clash detection and resolution using software such as Navisworks and Revit
Ensure quality control of BIM models and data
Provide technical support and training to project teams on BIM and VDC processes and software
Assist in the development and maintenance of BIM and VDC standards and guidelines
Review and evaluate project design documents for accuracy and completeness
Utilize Autodesk Construction Cloud, Revizto, GTP Stratus, Bluebeam Revu, Victaulic Tools for Revit, Procore and other software to facilitate BIM and VDC processes
Communicate and coordinate with project stakeholders including architects, engineers, contractors, and vendors
Stay up-to-date on industry trends and advancements in BIM and VDC technology
Prepare and present reports and analysis on BIM and VDC processes and results
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
3+ years of experience in construction, with a focus on BIM and VDC processes
Proficiency in CAD software, particularly Revit, and clash detection software such as Navisworks
Strong understanding of construction processes and mechanical design
Knowledge of piping systems and piping codes
Experience with Autodesk, Revizto, Bluebeam, Revit, Procore, and other BIM and VDC software
Excellent coordination and communication skills
