ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Act as owner’s representative with primary responsibility for all phases of a project.
Assist in the development & management of the project strategic plans & program initiatives to meet the goals and needs of WDC projects.
Manage and coordinate all aspects of assigned projects, including budgets, schedules, operational needs, procedures, client standards, sustainability design as well as the QA/QC program requirements.
Review contractor cost estimates and value engineering proposals for validity.
Coordinate with the architect, contractor, and other project team members to meet the project objectives & resolve issues.
Assist in the management and submission of statutory project documents & approvals related to the project work.
Review & manage procedures for handling changes to the contract documents, monthly valuations, drawing submissions, change-orders, substitutions, etc.
Document the status of the project, all meetings and correspondence as a means to properly communicate within the project team and develop the project documents.
Coordinate and oversee the project design team and other constituents.
Coordinate projects with municipal officials such as fire marshals, tax assessors, planning & zoning, building, inland-wetlands, or water and sewer departments.
Coordinate all bidding and contract award requirements ensuring compliance with City, State & Federal laws, regulations, and ordinances.
Draft Construction & Professional Service Contracts; work with assigned attorneys to complete contracts.
Coordinate projects with various local, State, and Federal agencies including (but not limited to) the NVCOG, DECD, EPA, DEEP, SHPO, etc.
Make public presentations before various boards and commissions.
Applicable OSHA workplace safety training & certifications a plus, but not required.
REQUIRED EDUCATION
B.S. in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or a closely related field
10 years of experience minimum in construction project management with experience in brownfield remediation and redevelopment, school renovation and new construction, utility and streetscape projects, park and municipal construction, demolition and abatement projects.
QUALIFICATIONS
Requires excellent oral, written, and presentation communication skills in English; same skills in Spanish a plus, but not required.
The ability to interact effectively with all levels of management and staff.
The ability to coordinate directly with Federal, State & local officials.
Ability and willingness to engage in community outreach.
Ability to read and interpret highly complex written material such as plans, specifications, codes, ordinances, and contracts.
Knowledge of project management principles and techniques.
Knowledge of basic building systems utilized in construction.
Knowledge of cost estimating, tracking, and scheduling techniques.
Ability to travel to job sites to conduct field inspections of work regardless of weather conditions.
Occasional evening hours to attend public meetings and presentations are required.
This is an on-site, in-person position. Must have own transportation.
Authorized to work in the United States at the time of application submission.
