Position Summary Redevelopment Management Associates (RMA) is seeking a qualified candidate to supervise construction projects for its city clients. Projects range from renovation of small retail buildings to new construction of office and retail space, parking garages, and coordination with right‑of‑way or city streetscape improvements. The Construction Project Manager reports directly to the Director of the City Redevelopment Agency (CRA) in West Palm Beach and will be based in the CRA office.

Duties and Responsibilities

Assist with implementation of CRA capital projects including tenant improvements, parking facilities, streetscape projects, community buildings, park and recreation projects, building façade program, housing rehabilitation projects, and storm‑water improvements.

Coordinate and manage multiple projects simultaneously across all phases of construction, contract administration, quality control, inspection, and warranty administration.

Work with design and engineering consulting firms, general contractors, and city, county, and other agency representatives throughout the development process.

Assist in the procurement process of design and construction services for new construction and renovation projects, adhering to governmental processes and procedures.

Collaborate with city procurement, finance, and legal departments to process paperwork for all projects.

Manage project design and construction consulting contracts; verify compliance with applicable codes and contract provisions; review pay requests and change orders; manage project schedules and budgets.

Interact with community groups, residents, and business owners, coordinating communication with City staff, elected officials, and other public entities.

Observe conditions within the community, engage community leaders, and make presentations before governmental committees, boards, and community organizations.

Prepare agenda items and make presentations at city and CRA meetings.

Compose correspondence and maintain complex records and reports.

Coordinate with RMA or client’s marketing department to communicate the progress and impact of construction work to merchants and property owners.

Perform varied administrative responsibilities under moderate direct supervision, exercising independent judgment.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in construction management, architecture, civil engineering, or a related field.

Minimum of five years progressive experience in construction management or related disciplines in building and horizontal construction.

Government experience preferred.

Knowledge of construction management software.

Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Strong public speaking and interpersonal skills.

Excellent writing skills, including drafting RFPs and reports.

Certification by trade associations is a plus.

Competency in AutoCAD and other graphic software; photography use is important.

Salary Range $75,000 to $90,000 DOE
