Responsibilities
Lead a field survey crew in geodetic surveys for boundary, topographic, construction and engineering land surveying projects
Proficient operation of total stations, data collectors, GPS systems and robotic instruments
Gather field survey data with conventional, robotic and GPS methods
Adjust and operate surveying instruments e.g., prisms, total stations, GPS and electronic distance-measuring equipment, auto-levels
Prepare field notes, drawings and perform complex survey calculations
Work alone or with one/two-person crew
Instruct and train survey crew in surveying and mapping methods, use of equipment, and field safety procedures
Perform computations and QA/QC checks on work performed
Safely operate ATV, UTV or similar vehicle
Commit to delivering excellent customer service as exemplified by the finished work product
Required Attributes
High School Degree or equivalent
Minimum 4 years work experience in field as surveyor and 4 years experience as leader; industry experience highly desirable
Clean driving record with valid Florida driver’s license
Capable of field work and manual labor
Preferred Attributes
Adapt well to new situations and be a team player and problem solver with a high level of accuracy
