Overview
The Delivery Specialist role at O'Reilly Auto Parts pays $14.81 - $21.00 per hour. The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the minimum wage for the job location. Additional compensation may include annual, quarterly performance, or premiums based on schedule, facility, season, or work performed. This role involves maintaining and operating store vehicles to deliver parts and/or products to professional customers, and collecting money on COD deliveries and picking up customer returns. Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities
Operate company vehicles to deliver parts and products to customers in a safe and efficient manner.
Use delivery fleet management handheld devices to process deliveries, capture customer signatures, update vehicle mileage, and complete daily vehicle inspections.
Keep vehicles clean, maintained, and perform daily vehicle inspections prior to operation.
Keep delivery vehicles, keys, fuel/fleet credit cards, handheld devices, and monies collected secure at all times.
Pick up customer returns (new, warranty, cores) and fill driver return slips.
Communicate problems or special needs from customers to store management.
Report vehicle maintenance needs, accidents, or vehicle damage to the store manager immediately.
Ensure fuel tank is filled and the vehicle is locked and secured at the end of each business day.
Clock in/out according to company policy.
Perform other duties as assigned, including customer service, sweeping, stocking, merchandising, running errands, handling core returns, checking in and restocking orders, etc.
May occasionally assist customers as a cashier and/or help with merchandising tasks when business dictates.
All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications Required:
Ability to quickly match alphanumeric sequences.
Strong interpersonal communication skills.
Ability to adapt quickly and effectively to changing delivery situations.
Driving record must meet the standard set in the company's 14/18-point record system.
Must possess a legally required state driver's license and meet company mandated driving eligibility requirements.
Desired:
Familiar with automotive parts.
Ability to operate other light store equipment.
Fluency in multiple languages, with Spanish highly desired.
