We are looking for an Aerospace Inspector to perform first‑piece, in‑process, and final inspection on aircraft engine components for compliance with engineering drawings, customer requirements, and company specifications before or after manufacturing processes. The role includes checking dimensions of related surfaces, holes, etc., assessing finish, detecting undesirable nonconformances, approving items within specifications, and recommending disposition for items that do not meet standards. Inspectors will verify the identification of part and supplier (internal or outside supplier).

Key duties also include the visual, dimensional, and final inspection of major rotating components such as disks, shafts, air seals, drums, and hubs; working with shop personnel to assist operators in setting up gauges and performing in‑process inspections; and maintaining the inspection department’s gaging methods.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Obtains blueprints and company specification sheets for the item and particular order.

Reviews internal operation sheets against customer blueprints.

Determines inspection procedures to ensure complete verification of specifications and dimensions.

Obtains necessary fixtures, gauges, and indicators to check parts for compliance with specifications within prescribed tolerances.

Completes assurance checklists during the process and performs dimensional checks of parts while in the machine when necessary.

Rejects unacceptable items, documents nonconformance, and moves parts to the quality clinic.

Completes required company paperwork on machined parts inspection activity.

Reads and understands work instructions such as operation sheets, engine manuals, customer purchase orders, etc.

Uses measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, swing gauges, etc.

Accurately documents all inspections (receiving, in‑process, final) and works with operators to ensure all requirements are met.

Communicates with co‑workers, colleagues, and supervisors to receive instructions and/or guidance and coordinate activities.

Organizes and maintains the inspection department, gaging methods, etc.

Works independently and efficiently to meet customer requirements.

Inducts incoming parts and aids in the expeditious shipment of critical parts.

Adapts to different inspection methods and follows safety and housekeeping standards.

Performs other related duties or responsibilities as requested or required, whether or not specifically mentioned in this job description.

Participates in training as required.

Requires 5–10% domestic travel.

Requirements

Must be a "US Person" as defined by US Government and able to work without restriction with ITAR related data.

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.

3+ years experience as an aerospace part inspector, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Ability to use measuring instruments such as micrometer, caliper, swing gauge, etc.

Knowledge of blueprint reading and machinery limitations.

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.

Must have visual acuity sufficient to read machine dials, gauges, operation sheets, and precision measuring equipment.

Must be able to read, write, understand, and speak English at a functional level.
