Title IT Accessibility Compliance Specialist
Location California
Required Qualifications
Must reside in California and be willing to travel statewide (2 5 days per trip, typically with one week between travel).
5 7 years of experience in IT procurement accessibility or related fields.
Proven ability to interpret and apply Section 508 and ADA from both compliance and contractual/legal perspectives.
Proficiency with WCAG 2.1 AA standards and accessibility testing tools (manual and automated).
Experience reviewing VPATs and vendor accessibility documentation.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
Strong project management ability across multiple teams and vendors.
Preferred Skills
Experience implementing or assessing the Accessibility Capability Maturity Model (ACMM).
Certifications: IAAP CPACC, WAS, or DHS Trusted Tester.
Advanced understanding of assistive technologies (e.g., JAWS, NVDA).
Experience conducting usability testing with individuals with disabilities.
Familiarity with public sector or higher-education procurement environments.
Bachelor s degree required; master s degree or equivalent experience preferred.
