SkyLand Ranch is seeking a skilled

Lift Maintenance Mechanic

to join our team. This role is responsible for the safe operation, maintenance, and repair of our chair lift system and amusement rides. The ideal candidate is a dependable self-starter who also thrives in a team environment, and is willing to assist across multiple areas of the park as needed. The candidate must display a willingness to make decisions, exhibit sound and accurate judgment, support and explain the reasoning behind their decisions, include appropriate people in the decision-making process, and make decisions in a timely manner. A lift maintenance mechanic must work independently and well with others in order to help in a variety of areas. They must feel comfortable asking questions, sharing concerns, and giving ideas regarding innovation and efficiencies that improve guest and employee experiences.

Requirements Summary of Major Duties and Job Responsibilities

Manage daily lift maintenance operations, ensuring compliance with national and local safety codes.

Perform inspections, preventative maintenance, and repairs on lifts, mechanical systems, and associated equipment.

Diagnose and resolve mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical issues.

Maintain all lift-related records, reports, and maintenance logs in accordance with regulatory and company standards.

Assist with training and supervising maintenance and electronics personnel.

Monitor operating and capital expenses in coordination with senior management.

Maintain cleanliness and operational condition of lift stations, tools, equipment, and workspaces.

Support risk management efforts and enforce all safety policies and procedures.

Ensure readiness for emergency situations; be available for on-call support as needed.

Assist with development and execution of seasonal maintenance programs.

Operate various vehicles and equipment (ATVs, UTVs, etc.); support other departments as required.

Physical Requirements

Able to regularly lift up to 50 pounds and occasionally team lift or move up to 100 pounds.

Ability to push, pull, grasp, kneel, stoop, climb, balance, crouch, crawl, and stand for long periods and at elevated heights.

Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions including, but not limited to, rain, sun, heat, snow, extreme cold and wind without protection

Able to ride all rides and attractions for physical ride-through inspections.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Able to tolerate exposure to chemicals and detergents used in the area.

Able to sit or stand at a desk or work station when needed

Must wear all required PPE

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with ski lifts, cable lifts, coasters, and heavy equipment.

5-7 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Electrical background and PLC/HMI experience preferred.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and work order systems.

Welding, fabricating, rigging, and fall protection knowledge.

Knowledge and expertise of mechanical concepts and principles as related to hydraulics, lubrications, power transmission, rotating machinery, and electricity.

Familiarity with state and federal ride standards including OSHA regulations.

Strong organizational, diagnostic, and communication skills.

Experience in fixed grip lifts along with surface lifts

Understand electrical schematics

Ability to work in all weather conditions, varying shifts, and overtime including nights, weekends, and holidays.
