Overview

New Car Store Office Manager will work alongside the store Controller and be responsible for timely month-end closing and reporting of OEM dealer financial statements and provide hands-on accounting, and administrative support while developing and maintaining strong financial reporting controls.
Responsibilities
Provide accounting support such as reviewing trial balances, schedules and journals to ensure that transactions are correctly recorded, schedules are accurately maintained, and account balances are properly reconciled.
Assist with the daily accounting operations to ensure that all transactions are recorded accurately and timely in accordance with corporate accounting policies and OEM reporting requirements
Work closely with the Controller to perform timely month-end closings and submit required OEM financial statements and management reports in accordance with GAAP
Under guidance of the Controller, prepare and complete assigned reconciliations to the trial balance and dealer financial statements in accordance with GAAP and OEM reporting requirements
Assist the Controller with reconciling and cleaning up of subledger accounts in a timely manner
Work directly with accounting back-office teams (tag, title, warranty, cashiers), sales managers to improve revenue or reduce expenses to meet or exceed budgets
Ensure compliance with dealership policies and standard operational procedures
Work with the Controller to maintain effective cash management systems and keep management informed of accounting trends and cash needs
Required Experience and Qualifications
MUST have prior experience working for a new car store in the accounting office.
MUST have at least 5 or more years of experience as a Bookkeeper, Office Manager and/or Assistant Controller for new car OEM automotive dealership
Demonstrated experience and work ethic in a mid to high volume new car OEM automotive dealerships
Thorough knowledge preparing and reconciling accounting schedules and journals for new car OEM dealership and demonstrated proficiency Dealer Management Systems (DMS) Reynolds & Reynolds, CDK, Dealertrack, Tekion, etc.
Ability to multi-task, work with various levels of management and manage accounting and administrative staff.
Demonstrate hands-on technical accounting knowledge of automotive dealership industry and clear communication skills
