Operations Support Specialist – Port Arthur, TX Location: 817 Houston Ave, Port Arthur, Texas 77640, United States Compensation Range: $27.88 - $29.80 per hour Onsite Status: This role is fully Onsite Responsibilities

The Operations Support Specialist is a part of the operations team and is responsible for assisting the Superintendent during the operations of discharge, load, and departure of assigned transportation, while ensuring quality, security, safety, and efficiency in accordance with relevant operational and technical parameters. The role also includes assisting other members of the operations team as determined by the Operations Manager. Work closely with terminal staff while handling cargo as directed, safely, and according to plans. Ensure all required personnel are wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), such as safety vest, safety toe boots, safety glasses, and protective hard hat, when applicable, and report any violations to a Superintendent. May be required to assist with investigating and reporting damages and liabilities to the appropriate management and authorities. Support, monitor, and troubleshoot when necessary, ensuring data is accurate, and inform terminal staff of any discrepancies. Report problems and issues to the appropriate Manager. Understand and adhere to safety procedures while implementing plans to address safety hazards. Assist Superintendents and Shop Foreman to assure proper communication between vessels, customers, agents, labor, and others, as directed. Report any deviation from company policies and procedures to the appropriate manager. Perform other related duties as required. Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent required. Minimum 2 years' experience operating powered industrial truck type equipment. Problem solving skills to respond quickly and effectively to operational issues. Ability to follow instructions in a fast-paced environment and be available to work varied hours and days. Basic knowledge or principles of terminal operations preferred. Knowledge of safety and accident prevention codes and regulations preferred. Knowledge and understanding of cargo stowage and stability preferred. Supervisory and Work Environment

Supervisory Responsibilities: No Work Environment: Must be able to work in rotating shifts (days, evenings, and nights); able to work in extreme outdoor temperatures, dusty conditions, and high noise levels; able to operate in environments with potential hazards to persons who cannot see or hear fast-moving equipment; ability to drive 50% and operate various types of equipment.
