Responsibilities
The QMA is responsible for providing medication administration, daily care, health needs, safety and comfort of the residents.
Administer and document oral, eye, topical, suppository medications, and ear drops as ordered.
Perform treatments on minor skin conditions per physician orders.
Maintain locked medication cart and keys according to facility policy.
Check catheters frequently and provide catheter care as assigned.
Document all medications and treatments given in medication record and nurse notes according to policy.
Maintain confidentiality of all resident care and protect residents’ rights and privacy.
Perform other duties as assigned by staff nurse or designee.
Qualifications
Must be certified by the Indiana State Department of Health as a CNA in good standing.
Must have completed a state‑approved training program in medication administration and hold current QMA certification by the Indiana State Department of Health.
Have a thorough understanding of safe and effective nursing practices within the State of Indiana.
A high school diploma or GED.
