BASIC FUNCTION:
Performs complex financial accounting and recordkeeping, prepares detailed financial and statistical reports, assists in developing internal control procedures, reconciles revenue and expenditure accounts for all capital construction, and provides administrative assistance. SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED:
Receives general supervision from the assigned supervisor. May lead temporary staff and/or student workers. CLASS CHARACTERISTICS:
Responsible for ensuring proper processing and recording of general accounting and capital project transactions. Performs duties independently, exercising judgment and initiative, with occasional instruction for new or unusual situations. Qualifications
Education and Experience:
An associate's degree in accounting, business administration, or a related field, plus three years of technical accounting experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge of:
Complex accounting principles, modern office practices, cost analysis reporting, purchase order and year-end closing procedures. Ability to:
Interpret rules, prepare reports, communicate effectively, maintain accurate records, operate computers and office equipment, and foster effective relationships. Licenses/Certifications:
None required. Physical Demands and Environmental Conditions
Standard office environment with typical physical requirements such as mobility, vision, hearing, and dexterity. Occasional standing, bending, and lifting up to 10 pounds. Moderate noise levels, controlled temperature, and interaction with the public and staff. Additional Duties
Includes monitoring construction budgets, preparing financial reports, maintaining records, reconciling accounts, advising management, and other related tasks. Conditions of Employment
