Airbus Helicopters is seeking an experienced helicopter sheet metal mechanic to join the Maintenance & Repair (MAR) team at Grand Prairie, TX. The position is a temporary contract role with flexible duration, placed through a third‑party vendor.

Key Responsibilities

Perform repair/maintenance work on assigned aircraft, including fabrication, repair and installation of helicopter airframe parts.

Use sheet metal tools to layout parts, cut raw materials, create nesting arrangements, prepare templates, and install assemblies ensuring structural integrity and compliance with FAA regulations.

Diagnose malfunctions, determine corrective actions, make repairs or replacements, and verify work via blueprints and technical manuals.

Maintain close coordination with lead QA to meet schedules, prioritize parts, and keep scrap to a minimum.

Document daily logs, sign off work, and complete required forms while adhering to safety and OSHA regulations.

Keep work area clean, tools in proper location, and maintain a "clean as we go" standard.

Travel as required (40% domestic & international).

Required Experience & Education

Minimum 6 years of related electrical/mechanical experience.

High school diploma or equivalent.

U.S. person under ITAR requirements.

Current A & P license preferred.

None listed for licensure; preferred some trade school background.

Preferred Qualifications

Current A & P;

Some trade school or technical training;

Previous contract or temporary aviation role.

Physical & Work Environment Requirements

Onsite: 90% of time.

Lifting up to 60 lbs (28 kg), carrying up to 30 lbs (14 kg), pushing/pulling small office furniture daily.

Vision, hearing, speaking, and computer operation requirements as listed.

Use of safety PPE (shoes, glasses, hearing protection, respirators, gloves).

Travel independently and on short notice as needed.

Citizenship & Travel

U.S. person under ITAR definition required.

Travel required: 40% domestic & international.
