Position Description This position is primarily responsible for assisting with the daily operations of the Teen Court diversion program. It supports the Teen Court Coordinator and Assistant Coordinator by providing alternative services to juvenile offenders.
Responsibilities
Conduct intake conferences using approved screening tools and assign sanctions to youthful offenders.
Monitor compliance of assigned sanctions.
Make program referrals and prepare required reports.
Coordinate with individuals and agencies to meet program objectives.
Conduct urine analysis screenings as required.
Perform other administrative duties that require coordination across teams.
Adhere to a flexible work schedule, including two evenings per week.
Travel locally as needed (minimal).
Qualifications
Intermediate to advanced proficiency in database programs and Microsoft applications, such as Excel and Publisher.
Basic knowledge of the juvenile justice system and experience conducting intake conferences (preferred).
Proficiency with database programs such as Clerk’s Odyssey, DJJ Prevention Database, and any Ninth Circuit diversion program database is a plus.
Bachelor’s degree in public or business administration, criminal justice, psychology, sociology, pre‑law, or a closely related social science field.
Preferred: Two years of professional administrative experience.
Master’s degree may substitute for one year of preferred experience.
Years of experience may substitute for preferred educational level on a year‑for‑year basis.
English; bilingual (English/Spanish) highly preferred.
Basic interpersonal skills needed in working with youth, their parents, volunteers, court professionals, and the public.
Additional Information This position will be located at the Juvenile Justice Center, 2000 East Michigan Street, Orlando, Florida. This is an Orange County Funded position.
