Senior Community Services Leader – Community Center & Tennis

Position Overview
We seek an individual who can connect with people, enhance customer experience each shift, and exceed expectations. The role serves patrons at the Norman P. Murray Community & Senior Center and the Felipe Tennis & Recreation Center. Responsibilities include front‑desk service, reservation booking using PerfectMind, and managing daily facility operations.
Work Schedule
Norman P. Murray Community & Senior Center: 12–19 hours/week, Monday–Friday, 8 a.m.–5 p.m.
Felipe Tennis & Recreation Center – Position 1: Saturday 6:30 a.m.–1 p.m.; Tuesday 1 p.m.–9 p.m.
Felipe Tennis & Recreation Center – Position 2: Sunday 11 a.m.–5 p.m.; Thursday 1 p.m.–5 p.m.; additional coverage Monday–Friday 6:30 a.m.–1 p.m. and 1 p.m.–9 p.m.
Facility Hours
Community & Senior Center: Monday–Saturday 8 a.m.–11 p.m.; Sunday 12 p.m.–8 p.m.
Felipe Tennis & Recreation Center: Monday–Friday 7 a.m.–2 p.m. & 3 p.m.–9 p.m.; Saturday 7 a.m.–7 p.m.; Sunday 7 a.m.–5 p.m.
Your Impact at the Community & Senior Center
Assist with reservations, registration, receipts, and record keeping.
Provide excellent customer service in person and by phone.
Coordinate cultural arts programs and classes.
Perform general office duties: cashiering, telephone, greeting, data entry, filing.
Maintain computerized enrollment and reservation system.
Plan and conduct special events, programs, and rentals; set‑up and tear‑down equipment.
Supervise facility preparation and maintenance for patron use.
Monitor safe use of program facilities.
Respond to patron needs and information requests.
Issue and collect equipment and supplies.
Perform basic custodial duties and minor maintenance.
Maintain logs, records, and files.

Promote positive relationships with public, staff, and volunteers.
Deliver high‑standard customer service and communication.
Promote Tennis and Pickleball programs and excite the public about courts.
Instruct public on program registration online, in person, or by phone.
Provide on‑demand assistance for registration while delivering outstanding service.
Check players in and assign courts while tracking usage.
Encourage tennis and pickleball play in the community.
Advocate membership purchases for frequent usage.
Book court reservations, respond to department emails, and support administration.
Assist with special events and tournaments.

Ability to learn and apply facility use policies and procedures.
Handle medical emergencies calmly, including basic first aid and CPR.
Experience with special events.
Qualifications
Equivalent to completion of twelfth grade and two years of experience in community services, cultural arts, and/or recreational activities for varying age groups, or completion of at least twelve units of college‑level coursework in recreation, physical education, cultural arts, or a closely related field.
Licenses or Certificates
Applicants must be 18 years or older at appointment.
Valid Standard First Aid Certificate required within 3 months of appointment.
Valid AED and CPR Certified (Infant, Child, Adult) required within 3 months of appointment.
