Position Type: Support Staff/Paraprofessionals and Aides/ Class 13 - Specialized Paraprofessional Date Posted: 9/2/2025 | Location: Cornerstone Elementary School | Date Available: Upon Hire | Closing Date: 9/9 or until filled Position specifics: Specialized Paraprofessional (Unit). Hours: 5.75 hours per day, nine-month position (Monday - Friday). Salary Range: $20.77 - $26.30 per hour. Responsibilities

Assist the teacher by working with individual and small groups of students in implementing the goals and objectives of the educational program. Assist students in specialized areas where they need help with basic academic skills, personal care needs, and specialized health needs as identified by the District. Help with supervising pupils in playground, recess areas, lunchroom, community training, mainstreamed classes, and other educational settings in and outside the school. Assist the teacher(s) in implementing and reinforcing identified educational strategies. Operate and care for equipment used in the classroom for instructional purposes. Serve as a chief source of information and help to substitutes in the absence of the regular teacher. Assist students with academic subjects, social skills development, and other non-academic areas as directed by the teacher. Maintain confidentiality of information about students and demonstrate regular and predictable attendance. Physically respond to students who may be aggressive, according to district-approved protocols. May be assigned to work in more than one building and/or classroom as required. Perform other tasks from time to time as required by the teacher or administrator. Essential Functions

Assist the classroom teacher with the implementation of students' goals and objectives of the educational program. Work with students individually and in groups as directed by the teacher. Assist in the daily operation of the classroom (collecting/checking work, supervising testing/make-up work, data collection, copying materials). Attend to personal care needs of students as needed (see detailed sub-items under responsibilities). Performing specialized health and medical procedures as determined by the District. Assisting students with restroom use and toileting needs (lifting, transferring, positioning, diapering as needed). Assisting students moving to/from rooms and spaces (including use of wheelchairs or adaptive equipment). Administering medication as directed by District Policy. Administering first aid to students, if necessary. Assists student in improving personal and organizational performance by monitoring, measuring and recording outcomes. Assist with supervision of pupils in various settings. Assists the teacher(s) in implementing and reinforcing educational strategies. Operates and cares for classroom equipment. Serves as a point of contact for substitutes in the absence of the regular teacher. Supports student development in academic subjects and social skills as directed. Maintains confidentiality and demonstrates reliable attendance; avoids discussing sensitive information where others may overhear. Physically respond to students as needed according to protocols. Occasional exposure to blood, bodily fluids, and tissues. Occasional interaction with unruly students. Knowledge, Abilities and Skills
