Poudre School District Responsibilities
Assist the General Classroom or Special Education Teacher by providing instructional and physical support for students with significant support needs so that they may fully participate in class activities. Assist students with personal care, social skills and/or self-awareness. Assist teacher with classroom materials and clerical tasks, monitor students, and reinforce school-wide discipline procedures. Implement instruction and reinforce learning skills in individuals or small groups; adapt curriculum to student needs; support IEP, behavior plans, and health care plans. Assist with specialized occupational therapy and physical therapy programs and activities as needed. Support students with personal care tasks including mobility, health and hygiene, and communication needs; use alternative communication methods as required. Prepare materials, administer tests, take attendance, complete paperwork, maintain files, and record student achievement. Attend work on time and participate in in-services, meetings, trainings, IEP meetings, and parent conferences. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent One year of related experience Experience working with special needs students preferred Equivalent combination of education and experience acceptable Criminal background check required for hire Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) training required within 3 months of hire Special Education Paraprofessional Academy classes (5 in first 2 years of hire) Questions regarding this posting can be directed to talent@psdschools.org Details
Pay Range: $19.86-$22.24 per hour, based on qualifications and experience Hours per day: 6.5 Work calendar days: 186 Duration of position: Ongoing Benefits include: Health, dental, life insurance; PERA retirement; paid time off; short- and long-term disability; and other optional benefit elections.
