Logistics Supervisor – Overview Join POET as a Logistics Supervisor in Savannah, GA. POET is a global leader in renewable-based bioethanol and sustainable products, converting renewable resources to energy and value-added goods as efficiently as possible. The Logistics Supervisor will ensure timely scheduled container shipments, manage container stacking operations, supervise a team of Gate Clerks, and align product spec availability via rail with scheduled container shipments.

Responsibilities

Work with the POET logistics team to optimize container schedule workflow.

Monitor vessel schedules at the Port of Savannah and maintain current data in POET’s operating system.

Communicate with the POET Terminal – Savannah team effectively and help manage through challenging logistical situations.

Provide the data necessary to complete the international container shipment documentation process to the logistics team.

Keep current on all pertinent regulations impacting POET’s export processes through the Georgia Port Authority.

Help manage stacking operations, container grid layout and truck traffic flow onsite at POET Terminal – Savannah.

Advise POET Bioproducts on any discrepancies/changes in terminal production plans.

From time to time fill in for Gate Clerks when they are short staffed.

Assist in determining areas of opportunity to improve work processes.

Effectively lead a team of Gate Clerks (and potentially other job titles) by recruiting, selecting, orienting and training team members. Leadership responsibilities also include delegating, coaching, managing performance and career development.

Provide Terminal leadership team with a schedule of incoming railcars from area of origin.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent required.

One-year relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience required.

Passion for international logistics.

Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to remain calm when plans change.

Excellent leadership, communication and detail orientation.

Hard worker eager to learn new skills and adapt to change.

Knowledge of various types of equipment and its controls.

Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn new programs.
