Inventory Manager - Fleet Services

Overview
Reporting directly to the Fleet Division Director, this role is responsible for managing and leading the daily warehouse and inventory operations of the Fleet services Department. Serves as Director of Fleet in the director’s absence.
Responsibilities
Develops work schedules for inventory and warehouse staff
Completes performance reviews, makes and recommends personnel changes within department parameters
Provides and creates training for staff on new procedures, processes and changes implemented by the department head
Oversees and supervises all inventory operations including the maintenance and inspections of the department parts and supplies
Collaborates with technicians and the fleet director to determine equipment needs
Manages database for inventory control and supplies, including ticket tracking system and related department software
Supports and assists various teams within the department when researching or developing new supplies, equipment, procedures, and technology tools
Implements quality control measures and directs safety and maintenance programs to reduce risk and cost
Prepares and reviews bid documents and collaborates with internal and external professionals to draft and approve vendor terms and conditions
Performs purchasing coordination for the department, including reconciliation/oversight of p-card use, generating purchase requisitions, processing invoices, managing supplier relationships, liaison with County A/P and Purchasing, and preparation of end-of-fiscal-year reporting
Assists and conducts financial audits of department spending and reviews and approves purchasing orders and requests
Assists in annual budget process by collaborating with department leadership on equipment needs, maintenance and other departmental costs for budget development
Prepares custom data reports related to logistics, parts reconciliation, billing, inventory and stocking levels, and vehicle operational cost
Manages and monitors all fuel inventory including overseeing record keeping of Texas Commission of Environmental Quality (TCEQ) hazardous material disposal manifests
Prepares and coordinates surplus inventory for auction
Administers Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) training for fleet staff and technicians

Position involves frequent sitting, standing, walking, climbing, bending, heavy lifting, and operating equipment
Position involves safely operating a motor vehicle
Environmental Factors
Indoor and outdoor work in all environments, including inclement weather
Regular travel between work sites is required
Irregular Hours
Work outside of the normal office hours (Monday-Friday 7:30 am – 4 pm) may be required
May be deemed essential personnel in the event of an emergency
Regular attendance is required

Qualifications
High school or equivalent
Seven (7) years of automotive, heavy truck, and heavy equipment theory/application experience including aftermarket parts experience
Five (5) years of supervisory/management experience including financial and budget responsibilities
Demonstrated experience in data entry and Microsoft Office Suite
Ability to provide own cell phone
Licenses and Certifications
Required: Valid driver’s license
Required within six (6) months of employment: TCEQ Class A/B Operator
Preferred Qualifications
Associate degree in a related field
Demonstrated experience in inventory management
Prior forklift operation experience
ASE Parts Certification
